Shortly before Grandma’s death she wrote her life story in her very best English. Born in 1875 in Sweden grandma’s life was a happy but yet difficult one. As the custom in Sweden in those days, Grandma worked hard to preserve her family’s farm. She would sometimes travel alone to far away towns to work as a nanny or a maid to whoever would hire her, grandma was still a little girl, not even the age of 12. But Grandma did not complain. She spoke of how these trials taught her how to work hard. Grandma came to America shortly after she joined the church and was married. She moved to Utah, where her husband worked hard to support the family by working in coal mines. As a young mother of several children, Grandma became very ill, an illness that lasted up until the day she died. She was a wonderful sister, wife, daughter and mother. Despite her trials she kept her faith, and worked hard to serve others.
